Florida Chihuahua recently confirmed as the oldest dog alive by the Guinness World Records.

A chihuahua named Toby Keith, from Florida was recently confirmed as the oldest dog alive from the Guinness World Records.

Toby was born on January 9, 2001 so he was 21 years old and 66 days old on March 16 when Guinness World Records confirmed it.

His owner, Gisela Shore said people can’t believe how good he looks for his age. Shore adopted Toby from a shelter when he was just a puppy after an elderly couple surrounded him because they could no longer care for him.

Shore said the Chihuahua’s name was Peanut Butter when she adopted him but she changed it to Toby Keith.

The average life of a chihuahua is 12-18 years. She said good genetics, a healthy diet and a loving home are the secrets to his old age.

Toby Keith lives with his owner, two other dogs and two parrots.

According to his mom, Toby takes several walks a day, lies next to his mom while she is working and snacks on his favorite treat- a slice of turkey.

Pugpalooza congratulates Toby Keith and his mom, Gesela Shore for this achievement and milestone.
