As always, this year’s Puppy Bowl promises to be a gridiron battle filled with adorable, not-so “dog-eat-dog” football action.
Team Ruff and Team Fluff will square off at 2p.m. Eastern (11a.m. Pacific) on Sunday, Feb. 13 on the Animal Planet channel. It will also stream on discovery+.
Puppy Bowl is a mock football game that features dogs as players. The goal is to help shelters and rescue groups find the dogs new homes. The event showcases more than 100 adoptable dogs from 67 shelters and rescues across 33 states.
Organizers say fans can expect to see the players “give it their all to chase, fetch, guard, heel and sprint to the end zone.” The event usually amounts to a hilarious romp where the dogs score more laughs than touchdowns.
T.V. personality and businesswoman Martha Stewart and artist Snoop Dogg will host and coach the event. Stewart will lead Team Ruff, while Snoop Dogg will coach Team Fluff.
Midway through Puppy Bowl, there will be a “Kitty Half-Time Show” where adoptable kittens will be the highlight of a “purr-fect” beach party.
