The short answer is YES… DEFINITELY!!

Here’s some statistics that will surprise you:

According to a survey that was taken recently by a dog-walking company called Wag, 86 percent of people surveyed said they would break up with someone who didn’t like their dog. So, if you find someone you would like to date, make sure you like their dog. LOL!!

The same survey also revealed that 4 out of 5 people who owned dogs said that their dog’s reaction to a person they met would affect how they feel about that person, and it would determine whether or not the relationship continued.

See the survey for yourself if you doubt me:

I can believe this because if Molly didn’t like someone, they probably wouldn’t be invited back to my house. It’s that important!

Am I the only person who feels like that? No!

A study from Link AKC, who designs smart collars for dogs found that 50 percent of pet owners often decline social invitations because they would rather stay home with their dogs. (Yep! That’s me). And, 16 percent of married people said they would rather celebrate their dog’s birthday than they would their spouse’s.

Also, if you are looking to date, you might want to make sure you have a dog because 73 percent of dog owners are more likely to swipe right on a dating app if the profile photo includes a dog. And 78 percent of people were more likely to go home with someone who has a dog.

What about breakups? Did you know that one in five people who are in a relationship will stay in that relationship because of their partner’s dog.

Many people use their dog (or puppies) to attract people they want to date and statistics show that the strategy works about 84 percent of the time. Dog’s really do have the ability to attract people to you.

If you meet someone who has dogs and you aren’t a dog person, you better think twice about getting involved. Statistics show that people who enter a relationship with the intention of talking their partner into re-homing the dogs are more likely to end up finding a different place to live – instead of the dogs.

According to another study done by the Independent UK, many animal lovers prefer a dog or cat over their significant other because pets listen without judging us and they are wonderful snugglers. Dogs forgive quickly, they don’t care if we aren’t wearing makeup and they give unconditional love. Four out of 10 people admitted that they often give their animals more attention than they do their partners.

Maybe we need to look closely at what dogs do and how they behave. We, as humans, could probably learn a lot from dogs if we would just stop long enough to notice.
