Would you rather stay home with your dog or go out with friends on New Year’s Eve??

A recent poll showed that pet owner’s prefer the company of their animals over their best friends!! WOW!!!  Actually, I’m not super surprised at this poll. Personally, I would rather stay home, watch a movie and snuggle with Molly than I would go out on New Year’s Eve.

Why is this??

  1.   A recent poll showed that dog owners said that their pet helped them de-stress after a tough day at work and 57 percent of the people polled said they felt less lonely when their pet was beside them.
  2. Animals are conflict free. They don’t gripe or complain about their problems- they just believe that we will take care of them and love us unconditionally.
  3. Animals are sometimes more physical than humans and easy for us to laugh at. They love our attention and love to entertain us (especially pugs).
  4. Animals love to cuddle,  and they love attention, like belly scratches or back rubs. They don’t have preferences on who does it. They just appreciate it.
  5. There is no stress as you spend time with your animals. They aren’t going to lie to you or try to manipulate you. They will give you their full attention and want your full attention. And… they are so appreciative.

In this article, it says that most pug owners would prefer to spend time with their pug rather than with family or friends. What do you all think? Is this true??

Researchers from Northwestern University of Colorado found that most people have more empathy for a dog than they do a human. The research results were from 260 students. They students were given fake news articles to read about a beaten human and a beaten dog. The results showed that most of the students would prefer to save the dog rather than the human. Another finding of the study was that most pug owners do not have a problem spending money on their dogs- in fact, they love spending money on them. Pug owners tend to spend as much money as needed to make their pugs as happy as possible. A third finding showed that dog owners are willing to give money to charities to help dogs.

These results did not surprise animal trainers. They said that dogs give us unconditional love and a lot of times, people build stronger bonds with their pugs than they do with other people.

I can relate to these results. Molly is easy to be with. She loves me and I know it. She doesn’t argue (Well…much lol), she’s not moody, she’s always glad to be with me, she loves to cuddle and I love her company. I read to her and she listens. I share my food with her (a little). She entertains me and I laugh at her. Pugs want to be with their owners!! When someone wants Molly to do something or go somewhere with them, she always looks at me to make sure I’m going too… or that it’s OK. She depends on me and I know it. I love that she depends on me and I take care of her. She knows I take care of her… and she trusts me completely. I don’t know that I’ve ever had a human relationship as great as that. Just something to think about…

For all of you staying home with your pets on New Year’s Eve… Enjoy the evening with them. I know I’m going too!!

Until next time,

Hugs and Pug Kisses,

Candy
