I am interested in buying a Furbo Dog camera so I wanted to look up some reviews before actually purchasing it. Here’s what I found:

Dr. Justine Lee, DACVECC, DABT, Board-certified Veterinary Specialist recently bought a Furbo dog camera. Here’s his review of the camera:

* He loves the packaging. He says it comes in a nicely packaged, super easy-to-open box with simple instructions.

* He says it’s really easy to set up. Dr. Lee says he’s not tech savvy and he got it set up in a matter of two minutes. He says it does need an internet connection to work.

* He says the camera is great. It’s got an HD camera with night vision so you can watch your dog even if it’s dark outside. Dr. Lee says there is a few second delay, depending on the speed of your internet. The Furbo comes with a 120 degree wide-angle lens, 4x digital zoom and infrared LED night vision. He says the camera produces clear photos.

* Dr. Lee says this camera also produces video. You can actually talk to your dog because it has a two-way audio with a built-in speaker and a microphone.

* He says it’s easy to refill. You simply take off the lid and put the treats in. Since Dr. Lee is a vet, he says you should only refill it about once a month because too many treats will make your dog obese.

* He says the Furbo dog camera works well from remote locations.

Cons that Dr. Lee found:

* The Furbo camera recently went through several updates which made the dispenser work poorly, but Dr. Lee says that issue has been resolved.

* The treat well is small so it has to be refilled often. Also, this dog camera throws out 3-4 treats at a time instead of 1 so make sure they are low calorie.

* Dr. Lee says the camera needs to be placed high if you have a dog that loves to chew on things. This camera could easily be broken into.

* Dr. Lee says the Furbo has a barking alert but reminds us to NOT give your dog treats when they are barking- he says that is inappropriate positive feedback for negative behavior.

Overall, Dr. Lee says he really likes this product. It lets him know what is going on in his home when he’s not home. He also says it’s reasonably priced, is well built and works well.

The Furbo is $194.00 right now on Amazon:
