CHILLZ Cooling Pad for Dogs
This cooling mat is made by the CHILLZ company. It’s a thin cooling mat filled with a patented gel. The mat is available in three different sizes to fit different breeds of dogs. (The medium mat is 20″ x 16″, large 35″ x 20″ and the extra large 38″ x 32″.) The mat is available in a variety of colors and designs.
According to the company, the gel in the mat is pressure activated and lasts up to three hours when it is being used. When not being used, the air will recharge the mat.

My personal experience with this product: The cooling mat came ready to use as soon as we opened it. It felt cool to the touch, and cooled more once I laid it out on the floor and waited a bit. The cooling mat we received is blue in color. Penelope wasn’t sure what it was at first and she’s still not totally sure what she’s supposed to do with it. She wouldn’t lay on it for the first week, but she was curious about the mat. She would walk across it just to feel the coolness on her feet. We attend a farmer’s market every week and Penelope has a soft kennel she sits in. A week after we received the mat, I took it to the market with us and put it in Penelope’s kennel. It was a pretty warm day. She stood for just a bit, then went to the mat and laid down on it. She didn’t move for about two hours and seemed pretty comfortable on the mat. I’ve taken it for three weeks to the market and Penelope has figured out that the cooling mat is a comfortable place to lay. She’s still not sure of the mat in the house, but it is cool in our house so she likes to lie in her recliner.
I am always looking for ways to keep my pug cool, so I was pleasantly surprised at how cool this mat stays. When I walk across the mat with bare feet, it always feels cool to the touch. Also, the mat is super easy to clean. I just take a wash rag and wash it off when needed. The mat is easy to transport. It folds in half and I can easily put it in my carry bag.
I’ve read reviews that say the mat tears easily. I have not experienced this as of yet. I have taken it back and forth to the market for a month, Penelope has laid on it, I have walked over it with bare feet and it’s held up so far.
As a dog (pug) owner, I would recommend this product. I like it because it seems to keep my pug comfortable when we are out in the weather. Pugs don’t do well in the heat, so I am always looking for ways to keep her comfortable because she wants to be with me wherever I go. I will continue to use this mat throughout the summer and on our vacation this year.
Bottom Line: Positive Rating. This cooling mat does what the company claims and is a cost-effective solution for dogs that get hot easily.
