This adorable, energetic little pug who loves to chew on his brother’s tails and back legs is the companion of David and Nicky Bitzenburg Flack from Overland Park, Kan.

David and Nicky purchased Tug from Claremore, OK. Now 12 weeks old, Tug has a playful side. Tug has two brothers: a Corgy mutt named Tucker and a yellow Lab named Chopper. Tucker and Chopper are both 11 years old. Nicky said that Tug acts submissive to the big dogs when he’s beside them but jumps and chews on them every chance he gets.

Canada for first vacation

For now, Tug sleeps in his kennel. Nicky said eventually Tug will sleep in their bed, but right now she is afraid he might fall out because he is so young. Tug will be going on his first vacation to Canada for a fishing trip in June. Nicky said they will find out this summer if he likes to swim.

Kennel and Potty-trained

Tug hasn’t had professional photos taken of him yet, but Nicky said they take lots of pictures of him. Tug is kennel trained. He goes in his kennel when Nicky takes a shower, when she works and at night to sleep. Tug does great in his kennel because he has Tucker and Chopper to keep him company.

Tug is potty-trained. Nicky said the breeder started potty training him before she bought him and he has done great. “He is the most potty trained dog I have ever had,” she said. “We have never put down a pee pad.” Nicky believes consistency is the key to potty training.

Loves to Chew and Tug-of-War a Favorite

Tug loves people and other dogs, according to his mom. He barks at Tucker and Chopper when they won’t play with him. Nicky talks to Tug all the time but is not sure how much he understands yet because he is still really young.

Tug hasn’t been on too many walks yet this summer because of the heat. Tug loves Tug-of-War, but according to Nicky, everything is a play toy to him, including human flesh.

Tug currently eats Wildology for puppies and has no health problems. Tug weighed 5 lbs. on May 7th at his vet visit. Nicky said they love their vet and have been going to the same vet for 20 years.

Nicky puts a harness on Tug because it’s easier on his neck. She said Tug sleeps off and on during the day, then sleeps for seven hours at night.

Loves to Sprint and Run from Mom

” When outside, Tug has this goofy road runner sprint around the yard for a few turns, ” Nicky said. “Then he stops and just plops down with his tongue hanging out.”

She said his new thing is running away from her when she wants to pick him up. A few nights ago, it took Nicky 20 minutes to catch him so they could go upstairs and go to bed. She said Tug has not conquered the stairs yet.

Nicky said that Tug is her second pug and she recommends pugs because they are adorable. “We love their quirky personality,” she said.
