Welcome “Piglet,” Pugpalooza’s Pug of the Month!!!

Piglet lives in Nashville, Michigan. His mom, Deanna Downing Kellogg bought him from Ruth Ann Franks to keep his older sister company.

Now, 13 years old, Piglet sleeps with Deanna on her left side. She says he has a little pillow square he sleeps in but he doesn’t move after he goes to sleep so she has to feel for him to make sure he is still in his spot.

Super Model Piglet

Deanna says Piglet is a “super model.” Her family has had many family portraits taken with him. Piglet does not have a kennel he stays in- Deanna says he has free rein of the house. She says he is really good boy- he just sleeps and doesn’t have any accidents.

Piglet likes people and other dogs and barks if he wants food or if his sister is barking, though Deanna says he doesn’t usually know what he is barking at because he doesn’t see well. Deanna says she talks to Piglet a lot and he understands several words, like “Pizza,” “Hamburger,” and “Dinner.”

Deanna and Piglet walk everyday around their neighborhood for potty times and she said they get to visit their family on these walks because they live close. Piglet likes his walks as long as they are short.

Not many teeth left, but eats a prescription diet

Piglet eats a prescription diet, formulated to help with weight and his intestines. Deanna says he’s still just a little overweight so they limit his food amounts. She also says that pugs shed and are prone to allergies and ear issues.

Piglet does not have too many teeth left, so Deanna says they just let them be. Piglet wears a collar for the moment, though Deanna says she knows a harness is better for pugs.

Ham is a favorite snack

Piglet’s favorite food or snack is ham but he only gets it occasionally. He gets a half an animal cracker before bedtime. Deanna says he does not play much anymore- he mostly sleeps. She notes that they love their veterinarian.

Deanna says the best thing about having a pug is “everything.” She says they have sad looking faces that make you want to hold and kiss them all the time.

A huge “thank you” to Deanna and her beloved pug, “Piglet”  for letting us feature you on our blog. If you are interested in us featuring you and your pug in the future, please send me (Candy Johansen) a message on messenger or email me at: www.candysphotos@gmail.com.
